Introduction to the Job ASML US is seeking Ethics, Privacy and AI Officer to manage complex and sensitive ethics investigations, elevate the company's speak-up culture, and oversee end-to-end ethics case management. The role will also lead US privacy compliance operations, interpret and operationalize evolving state privacy laws alongside global GDPR requirements, and drive meaningful governance, training, and risk mitigation initiatives. This role reports to the US Head of Ethics, Compliance, and Employment and is central to strengthening ASML's culture of integrity, ensuring operational excellence in compliance programs, and enabling responsible, sustainable business growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in ethics, compliance, privacy, or a related function, with a meaningful portion spent in an in-house corporate environment, preferably within a global or matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or overseeing workplace investigations, including intake, triage, witness interviews, fact-finding, root cause analysis, and executive-level reporting of findings and recommendations.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, active listening, and communication skills with the ability to influence and advise at all levels of the organization, from frontline employees to senior executives.
  • Proven ability to design compliance programs, including developing policies, training, and resources that drive ethical culture, privacy compliance, and responsible AI use across a large organization.
  • Ability to quickly learn the business and its operational landscape, apply knowledge in practical and business-aligned ways, and stay ahead of emerging areas to proactively identify and mitigate organizational risk.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously enhance ASML's US Ethics Program by working closely with global and regional ethics teams to create clear guidelines, training, and resources that help employees make sound ethical decisions and reduce risk across the organization.
  • Foster a strong speak-up culture where employees feel safe raising concerns without fear of retaliation.
  • Manage and triage reports received through the ethics helpline, oversee and personally conduct investigations as needed, and provide regular updates and findings to senior leadership.
  • Track remediation efforts and analyze trends to drive ongoing program improvements.
  • Partner with the Global Privacy Office to monitor and interpret U.S. federal/state and international privacy laws (HIPAA, GLBA, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR); translate requirements into policies, data-mapping, vendor due diligence, and privacy-by-design practices; support Binding Corporate Rules and Data Protection Agreement negotiations; and direct Privacy Champions network through quarterly meetings, training, and cross-site alignment initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end data incident and breach handling—from triage and forensics coordination through regulator/consumer notifications and remediation—while managing US data subject rights requests.
  • Perform AI compliance triage assessments, evaluating proposed and existing uses of artificial intelligence and automated decision-making tools to identify regulatory risks, assess alignment with emerging federal and state AI governance frameworks, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures to ensure the responsible and lawful deployment of AI technologies.
