About The Position

The Estimator at Nucor Steel Auburn, Inc. is responsible for preparing accurate estimates of quantities of fabricated reinforcing bars, mesh, accessories, and related products for bidding projects. This role is crucial for ensuring competitive market participation and delivering timely proposals that meet customer needs. The Estimator will work closely with the Estimating Lead and sales teammates to support project bid schedules and adhere to safety standards.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Two-year technical degree from an accredited school or college (preferred).
• Previously demonstrated experience estimating rebar (preferred).
• Ten years' experience as a reinforcing bar or structural steel detailer or equivalent construction/field estimating experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of concrete structures, CRSI/ACI standards (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of quantities of fabricated reinforcing bars, mesh, accessories, and related products for bidding projects.
• Adhere to defined processes and best practices for estimate creation.
• Work with Estimating Lead for direction on workflow and priorities to support project bid schedule.
• Provide industry-leading dependable service that customers rely on.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with sales teammates regarding all aspects of the estimating and bidding process.
• Track plan revisions/bid updates against previous work.
• Review bid plans to assist in the assessment of the project, project scope, and bidding strategy.
• Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
