About The Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and play a key role in the planning and financial success of our projects. Experience in construction estimating, cost control, and industry-standard estimating software is essential, along with excellent communication and problem-solving.
Requirements
- Strong ability to analyze construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Proficiency in quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimating for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Excellent understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and scheduling
- Advanced mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify scope gaps, risks, and cost drivers
- Effective communication skills for working with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors
- Ability to prioritize multiple estimates and meet tight bid deadlines
- Strong negotiation skills when reviewing subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Proficient in estimating software, spreadsheets, and project management tools
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of Estimating Department.
- Obtains bids from subcontractors.
- Reviews and evaluates requests for estimates.
- Prepares weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates.
- Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
- Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid.
- Obtain pricing for materials.
