This position is responsible for providing reasonably profitable cost estimates for new/existing products, designs, repairs and presenting the quotes to customers in accordance with Company guidelines and parameters.

Requirements

  • A minimum five (5) years glazing industry experience providing accurate and detailed estimates to our customers within prescribed time frame.
  • Knowledge of glass industry dynamics and glazing products (fixed glazing, aluminum and glass storefronts, doors, and interior glass)
  • Successful track record of estimating interior and exterior glazing projects
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Prepare work to be estimated by gathering and evaluating proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Estimate all production costs by analyzing labor, material and time requirements, by taking in consideration the cost of raw materials, labor, equipment, tools and transportation as the basic factor for cost estimates.
  • Review estimate elements for adequacy, uniformity, and completeness, ensuring cost-based accuracy, as well as timely preparation of relevant documentation in accordance with Company standards and guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate Company related requirements and specifications, regarding products and services, with customers and vendors.
  • Monitor any change orders and communicate the price-effect of those change orders with customers.
  • Compute cost factors and prepare itemized cost work sheets and any other required documentation and actions.
  • Ensure installation is completed as required based upon the customers schedule.
  • Audit comprehensive job costing results and use them to continuously improve the estimation process.
  • Maintain all quotation and proposal records as required by Company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
