About The Position

Tri-City Electric Co. is currently seeking a Remote Electrical Estimator responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical mission critical construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. This role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents to ensure competitive and profitable bids

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in construction, contracting, or a related industry
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, and industry standards
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience estimating large mission critical projects or data center construction strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and related project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
  • Develop detailed calculations for labor, materials, and equipment associated with electrical systems and components
  • Solicit, evaluate, and review subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure best value and compliance with project requirements
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals that align with client and project specifications
  • Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving strategies to enhance project outcomes
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and requirements
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry pricing trends, labor rates, electrical codes, standards, and construction methods
  • Participate in pre-bid and pre-construction/kick-off meetings to define scope, deliverables, and project requirements
  • Support project handoff meetings to ensure a seamless transition from estimating to project execution
  • Track, analyze, and update historical cost data to improve the accuracy of future estimates
  • Coordinate with other divisions and departments to ensure consistency across projects
  • Manage awarded contracts, including estimating extra work items, processing change orders, issuing credits, and other related tasks
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Represent the company professionally in all interactions with customers, trade partners, and stakeholders
