About The Position

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Estimator with strong construction knowledge to prepare and coordinate accurate cost estimates for playground surfacing projects, including public works, multi‑school districts, and multi‑park installations. This role evaluates construction documents, performs material take‑offs, and develops complete conceptual and total bid pricing based on client specifications. Day in the Life – What to Expect Manage a high-volume workload, often receiving 40+ quote requests per day, with the ability to turn around 10–15 standard quotes daily. Work on a mix of public and private projects, including school districts, municipal parks, and large multi‑site bids. Review construction plans and specifications, analyze site requirements, and calculate accurate materials and labor needs. Communicate with contractors, architects, customers, and internal reps to clarify project details and resolve technical questions. Work in a hybrid schedule based in Southern California, with on‑site collaboration at the Corona Warehouse. Utilize technology platforms daily, including Epicor, Excel, and estimating software. AutoCAD, PlanSwift, or digitizer tools are a strong bonus.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of estimating, construction, or closely related experience required.
  • Strong general construction knowledge is a minimum requirement.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and construction documents.
  • Highly detail‑oriented with strong analytical and mathematical skills, including fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and unit conversions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Tech‑savvy with proficiency in:
  • Epicor (or similar software)
  • Excel and estimating spreadsheets
  • Word processing and email platforms

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate Requests for Estimates; maintain weekly bid calendar and ensure all estimates are completed on time.
  • Analyze construction documents, plans, and specifications to determine project scope.
  • Perform detailed take‑offs and input data into spreadsheets or estimating systems.
  • Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy; identify discrepancies and report issues to leadership.
  • Communicate with customers, contractors, and internal representatives to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Assist architects and engineers with product information and design questions.
  • Send brochures, cut sheets, and product materials to customers as requested.
  • Create or update cut sheets, product sheets, and marketing materials.
  • Attend trade shows, site visits, and architectural meetings as needed.
