About The Position

Role Summary: Reporting through the project management organization, the Estimator will play a critical role in supporting the commercial operations team by developing accurate and competitive quotes for sales opportunities. This role involves close collaboration with sourcing, procurement, planning, and manufacturing teams to determine costs, lead times, and feasibility for each opportunity. The ideal candidate is a strong analytical thinker, adept at problem-solving, and excels in cross-functional collaboration, with a solid foundation in supply chain management.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar), Syteline ERP system proficiency is a plus, MS Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.), and supply chain analytics tools.
  • Experience in manufacturing, with a specialization in valves
  • Strong proficiency in analyzing complex data sets, including cost structures, supply chain metrics, and production schedules, to drive informed decision-making.
  • Proven ability to identify challenges, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, including commercial operations, sourcing, procurement, planning, and manufacturing.
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with valve manufacturing or industrial products is a plus.
  • Ability to ensure accuracy in cost calculations, lead time estimates, and quote preparation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with commercial operations to build detailed, accurate, and competitive quotes for valve manufacturing opportunities, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company capabilities
  • Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to analyze material costs, supplier pricing, and other cost drivers to ensure accurate cost estimation for quotes.
  • Work with planning and manufacturing teams to determine realistic lead times for production, incorporating supply chain constraints, production schedules, and supplier delivery timelines.
  • Act as a liaison between commercial operations, sourcing, procurement, planning, and manufacturing to gather critical data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure alignment on project requirements.
  • Utilize analytical tools and supply chain data to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize procurement strategies, and improve quote accuracy.
  • Support sourcing efforts by communicating with suppliers to obtain pricing, availability, and lead time information, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks (e.g., material shortages, supplier delays) and propose mitigation strategies to ensure reliable quote commitments.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes related to cost estimation, lead time forecasting, and cross-departmental collaboration to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, supplier communications, and quote details, and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status and outcomes.
