About The Position

Mission Critical Interior Solutions, Inc. (MCIS) is seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically focused Estimator to join our Preconstruction team. This role requires specialized expertise in data center mechanical infrastructure, with emphasis on hot and cold aisle containment systems. The Estimator will play a critical role in evaluating project requirements, developing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the company’s efforts to deliver high-quality solutions for mission-critical environments. Ideal candidates will have prior estimating experience in data center construction or related technical sales/engineering roles, and bring strong vendor relationships, technical knowledge, and hands-on experience in complex white space environments.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in data center construction, mechanical system integration, or as a manufacturer’s technical sales/solutions representative.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an estimating software platform.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage confidential or sensitive information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with customers, trade partners, and internal teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
  • Background in Engineering or Design; experience with design/engineering software is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Procore construction management software.
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools for visualization and scope development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead estimating efforts for hot and cold aisle containment systems, including mechanical components such as polycarbonate panels, blanking panels, containment roofs, doors, and structural supports.
  • Support cost development for raised access floor systems, structural ceiling grids, and conveyance solutions.
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive proposals across multiple scopes of work.
  • Collaborate with project teams, clients, and trade partners to review scopes, identify value engineering opportunities, and ensure specifications are aligned.
  • Participate in preconstruction handoff meetings with operations to ensure continuity and accuracy.
  • Receive and review invitations to bid, disseminate information to relevant stakeholders, and maintain accurate bid tracking in Procore.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and track vendor and subcontractor pricing across multiple scopes.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure accurate, competitive, and timely pricing.
  • Monitor market trends and material pricing fluctuations to inform estimates and proposals.
  • Assist the Director of Preconstruction in developing and refining departmental procedures, policies, and best practices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies, trends, and methods in data center construction.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools, templates, and reporting.
