The role is designed for an ambitious individual with 1-2 years of hands-on estimating experience, who will perform takeoffs, assemble bids, and build relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform takeoffs from drawings and bid documents to prepare accurate estimates for heavy civil projects.
• Assemble bids for projects related to earthwork, underground utilities, roadway rehabilitation, and structural concrete.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing and ensure project success.
• Collaborate with the project management team to ensure bids are submitted accurately and on time.
• Use software like BlueBeam, Carlson, or HCSS to streamline the estimating process and ensure precision.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in estimating within heavy civil construction, including projects like earthwork, roadway rehabilitation, and underground utilities.
• Hands-on experience with BlueBeam, Carlson, or HCSS (not just classroom training).
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to building relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple bids simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Some heavy civil estimating experience - earthwork, excavating, underground utilities, etc.
