As an Estimator, your key responsibilities will be to evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Estimators must aggressively follow-up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received. Estimators also work with the Project Management teams to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business. Estimators review bid requirements for projects that are approximately $500K or less, ensuring all aspects of the project are documented and accounted for. Critical for success are the abilities to produce highly accurate work in a timely manner, maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Communication skills, both oral and written, are a must. A strong understanding and being comfortable working with numbers has been a key success to this role. This position provides assistance and direction to other team members but has no management responsibilities. The salary range for this position is $111,000 - $167,000 annually. This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position. Pay will be determined based on an individual’s skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree from a 4 year college or university
  • 5-8 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Abilities to produce highly accurate work in a timely manner
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong understanding and being comfortable working with numbers

Nice To Haves

  • Utility construction experience highly preferred
