The Structural Steel Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection projects, ensuring compliance with AISC standards. This role requires a strong understanding of steel construction processes and the ability to analyze costs effectively.

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection projects.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine material quantities, labor, and equipment requirements.
  • Ensure all estimates adhere to AISC standards and industry best practices.
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotes, vendor pricing, and material costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to identify project scope and potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare bid proposals and cost breakdowns for review and submission.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, change orders, and project scope adjustments.
  • Assist with project scheduling and budgeting during pre-construction phases.
  • Ensure all work is estimated and executed according to applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • 3+ years of experience in structural steel estimating (fabrication and erection).
  • Strong knowledge of AISC standards and steel construction methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
