Job Summary:
Responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of full estimates on playground surfacing projects as required by client’s documents, provides complete conceptual and total bid price.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 3-5 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Construction/building materials aptitude
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints. Write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively
• Proficient with estimating software and spreadsheet software and should have knowledge of word processing software, e-mail software and the use of the Internet

Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates Requests for Estimates; prepares weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates; reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy; reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid; executes take-off of construction documents; inputs take-offs into computer spreadsheet; informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database; photocopies documents and plans
• Corresponds with customers, contractors, and SpectraTurf reps and may resolve some technical issues
• Assists architects and engineers with technical and design issues
• Mails out brochures and cut sheets to customers who request via Internet
• Designs cut sheets and other advertising materials as needed; attends trade shows and occasional job site and architectural meetings
