We are committed to creating a better future for our customers, our people, our company, and our communities. Shaw Industries is looking for an Estimator & Planner to join our Custom Design Studio! This person will provide our account executives, client, project designer, and carpet installer with the information, documents and carpet installation/ seaming plans to correctly order and install hospitality and commercial carpet.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 1+ years of proven estimating/planning experience required
  • Minimum of 3 days a week in the Cartersville, GA office required
  • Demonstrated AutoCAD/Revit knowledge required
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural floor plans and specifications required
  • Strong mathematical skills, including fractions, measurements, accurately reading and scaling architectural units required
  • Proficiency in geometric concepts needed to scale, measure, and draft professional quality plans required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 required

Responsibilities

  • Interpret architectural plans to determine material requirements and installation layouts.
  • Create detailed CAD installation/seaming diagrams and visual renderings using AutoCAD, Photoshop, and related tools.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and sales to develop accurate project plans and solutions.
  • Calculate material quantities and generate formal project estimates using proprietary estimating software.
  • Produce manufacturing layouts for custom carpet applications (rugs, runners, panels, borders, etc.).
  • Maintain organized project documentation, logs, and deliverables.
  • Perform quality checks on estimate packages and support revisions across cross‑functional teams.
  • Troubleshoot project application issues with managers, designers, customer service, and installers.
  • Stay proficient with software, equipment, and tools used across the Custom Design Studio.
