About The Position

Founded in 1985, Electra Link has remained at the forefront of technology, delivering structured cabling, audiovisual, and security systems across Texas and beyond. With offices in Houston, College Station, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin, our expertise spans from single network cable drops to complex multi-building installations and offshore rig projects. Our Registered Communication Distribution Designers (RCDD) and experienced integration teams set the industry standard in design and implementation. Electra Link is seeking an experienced Estimator to support our Houston Industrial Division. This role is responsible for industrial low-voltage system design, material and labor cost estimation, and bid proposal preparation. The Estimator will work closely with sales, project management, and operations teams to develop accurate, competitive bids that meet customer and project requirements in industrial environments. This position requires a strong background in industrial low-voltage systems.

Requirements

  • Industrial low-voltage background (required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in industrial low-voltage, structured cabling, or voice/data systems
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Occasional site visits to industrial facilities for project assessment

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate cost estimates for industrial low-voltage projects, including structured cabling, voice/data systems, system layouts, rack elevations, and labor analysis
  • Design and specify low-voltage systems appropriate for industrial facilities, plants, and complex environments
  • Interpret project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to determine scope, materials, and labor requirements
  • Collaborate with Sales during client meetings, walkthroughs, and presentations to support estimating and scope clarification
  • Work closely with Project Management, Purchasing, Service, and Fabrication teams to create bills of materials and execution plans
  • Prepare complete job packets, including scope of work, equipment lists, installation requirements, safety considerations, and programming details
  • Review drawings and documentation for accuracy prior to project execution
  • Support awarded projects by attending kickoff meetings and ensuring alignment between bid scope and operations
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and distributors to secure competitive pricing and project registrations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date bid records within Sales Now
  • Provide after-sales technical support as needed
  • Ensure compliance with customer safety standards, industrial site requirements, and company policies
