About The Position

The Estimator role at Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is designed for a professional individual who thrives in a team environment and is committed to continuous improvement. This position involves providing detailed estimates for aluminum glazing systems and entrance doors, working from various architectural documents, and maintaining organized records of project information.

Requirements

• 2 years prior experience estimating (preferred).
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand architectural drawings and specifications.
• Prior knowledge of aluminum glazing systems, entrance doors, hardware, and all glass systems preferred.
• Strong understanding of commercial hardware, glass, composite metal panels, and other infill options and their applications preferred.
• Strong geometry, math skills, and mechanical aptitude.
• Organized, self-starter with the ability to handle numerous projects and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Good working knowledge of fabrication and installation to understand customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed estimates for aluminum glazing systems and entrance doors in a timely manner.
• Work from architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, or elevation take-offs.
• Follow up on estimates and provide feedback concerning market pricing levels.
• Achieve acceptable sales and margin levels.
• Provide consultation, coordination, and assistance to customers, sales force, and internal personnel.
• Maintain detailed and organized records of bid documents, correspondence, and other project-specific information.
