About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Construction Estimator to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial, residential, and industrial construction projects. This role plays a critical part in project planning, risk assessment, and financial forecasting to ensure profitability and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge of electrical systems with strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate drawings, specifications, and vendor pricing to produce detailed and strategic bid proposals.
Requirements
- Proven experience in estimating for electrical contracting, construction, or related industries
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction specifications
- Proficiency with estimating software, project management systems, and Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
- Working knowledge of electrical codes, industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control practices
- Experience working on commercial, residential, and industrial projects
Responsibilities
- Review project blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work to develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Prepare and submit competitive bids that account for risk factors, contingencies, and appropriate profit margins
- Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes; negotiate pricing and terms to optimize value
- Monitor historical cost data and market pricing trends to benchmark and validate estimates
- Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to ensure alignment between estimates and execution plans
- Identify scope gaps, cost risks, or design inconsistencies and recommend practical solutions
- Support pre-construction planning efforts and assist in bid review meetings
