Reports to: Air Distribution Sales Manager and Account Manager or Account Executive FLSA Status: Exempt The Opportunity We are seeking an Estimator for Air Distribution products we sell. Those include GRDs (Grilles, Registers & Diffusers), Fans, VAV Boxes (Terminal Units), Louvers, Dampers, Sound Attenuation, and Heaters. As the Estimator, this individual will be responsible for equipment take-offs, pricing, and generating proposals. Must be detail and customer service oriented and have excellent organizational skills. Position requires a high level of oral and written correspondence with the AD Group, Sales Team, and Manufacturers to ensure timely completion of assigned projects while maintaining customer satisfaction. Must be able to work well with others in a fast-paced & high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Estimator in HVAC Air Distribution products, estimating, engineering, construction management or contracting environment; or 7-10 years equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of MEP consulting, architecture, design, CAD, general contracting, mechanical contracting, engineering or construction industry a plus
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, deal with ambiguity and manage high volume projects
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with Blue Beam preferred
  • Ability to learn and utilize various manufacturer’s selection/pricing program
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to understand concepts and complexity comfortably.
  • Open to change and will try anything to find solutions.
  • Able to handle uncertainty and make decisions without knowing the whole story
  • Ability to discern between tasks to determine how best to accomplish goals and organize task/people assignments to get results in a timely way.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain job files for each project during the bidding process
  • Read, understand, and interpret building plans and specifications
  • Perform take-offs of air distribution products
  • Optimize the project through the stages of product selection, specifications, plans, estimates, and proposals
  • Provide support to sales engineers for selections and pricing during the design phase of a project
  • Communicate with AD Team, Sales Team, Manufacturers, and Customers
  • Develop and grow relationships with customers, contractors, project engineers and manufacturers
  • May assist with building room schedules and coordinating submittals
  • Attend product trainings in the office and occasionally at a manufacturer’s facility
