About The Position

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the AS Estimating Supervisor directs day to day activities of their team. This position also has responsibility for ensuring estimates go out in a timely manner. The incumbent gets involved in the collaboration/coordination of plans and activities with various internal groups (e.g. CAD/design, project management, and manufacturing operations) to support the TCX initiative based on project complexity. The Estimating Supervisor also guides other estimators in questions about products and procedures.

Requirements

  • Well-developed computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office; extensive knowledge of MS Excel required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a challenging environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Salesforce CRM.
  • Basic knowledge of estimating software.
  • Effective leadership and people skills; collaborator.
  • Proficient at decision making.
  • Able to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Excellent organizational & time management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant estimating work experience.
  • In-depth experience managing multiple design projects from concept to delivery to include quoting, prototyping, purchasing, scheduling, production, and shipping.
  • Prior supervisory experience or experience leading teams.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute daily RFQs from distributors and contractors to their team members.
  • Field technical questions from the company sales force regarding AS various products and systems.
  • Responsible for implementing approved margin management guidelines and updating pricing models accordingly.
  • Ensure their team follows all document procedures as outlined in the Estimating Manual.
  • Ensure team members communicate with customers daily to provide status updates as outlined in the Estimating Manual.
  • Understand manufacturing process, changes, and improves estimating pricing models in coordination with the Construction Services Manager.
  • Submit monthly dash boarding reports on their team's operational effectiveness.
  • Drive improved efficiency and effectiveness of the Estimating Department, with the cross functional effectiveness of the Project Managers and the CAD Department.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain process improvement around the customer experience to increase Architectural Specialties value through service.
  • Train estimating team on current margin guidelines, product, or process changes.
  • Coordinate weekly Estimating Team meeting to discuss best practices and lessons learned.
  • Work with in-house resources to establish cost and price on custom items.
  • Collaborate closely with team members on targeted projects including supporting coordinators on submittal documents.
  • Attend In-house product training as provided by AWI AS Training School.
