About The Position

The Estimating Quality Control Manager will be responsible for coordinating estimating and quoting workflows, managing a team of 16 or more members, interpreting construction drawings and project specifications to generate accurate material take-offs, and verifying their work for quality control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in estimating building materials for multifamily construction projects. At least five years of estimating management experience.
  • Proven supervisory experience managing high-volume, deadline-driven teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents.
  • High attention to detail with a strong quality-control mindset. Strong knowledge of building materials and construction processes.
  • Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Estima, PlanSwift, or Bluebeam).
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
  • Strong analytical and logic skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of precision on detailed work.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Business Travel Requirement: This position requires periodic international business travel, including travel to Vietnam. Candidates must possess a valid passport and be able to obtain any required travel visas.

Responsibilities

  • Material Takeoffs
  • Coordinating estimating, and quoting workflows, with scheduling, prioritization, and deadlines.
  • Manage a 16+ member estimating team.
  • Analyze blueprints, architectural plans, and project specifications to direct the team in creating accurate lumber and other structural material take-offs.
  • Perform Quality Control checks to ensure estimates are complete and all risks are addressed prior to submitting documentation.
  • Assist in evaluating the cost-effectiveness of materials and methods, suggesting alternatives when necessary to optimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Recommend appropriate lumber and framing solutions based on project needs, building codes, and availability.
  • Ensure all estimates are completed on time and meet company quality and accuracy standards.
  • Coordinate and direct the team in generating job quotes based on the material takeoffs for the sales department.
  • Assist in developing standardized estimating processes and tools for continuous improvement.
  • Support the team with technical knowledge and customer presentations as needed.
  • Work closely with sales, project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure material quantities are aligned with project scope and specifications.
  • Ensure all estimates align with company policies and compliance standards.
  • Maintain clear, organized records of estimates, quotes, and orders.
