Job Summary Rabalais I&E Constructors is seeking an Estimating Manager to lead strategic estimating efforts, mentor team members, and drive project wins with precision and profitability. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and innovation to deliver accurate budgets—even in the absence of complete design information. You’ll collaborate across departments, leverage emerging technologies, and serve as a trusted resource during pre-construction.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical estimating or commercial electrical construction.
  • Proven success managing estimates for complex, multi-system projects.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strategic mindset with attention to detail and deadline-driven execution.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and ability to interpret technical documentation.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to methodically approach detail-oriented tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision and oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and mentor junior estimators to elevate team performance.
  • Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform and review detailed take-offs to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Analyze drawings and specifications to develop project-specific estimating strategies.
  • Deliver comprehensive budgets with limited design documentation.
  • Attend pre-bid walkthroughs to assess site conditions and build client rapport.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customer decision-makers.
  • Participate in presentations and interviews with clients, owners, and design teams.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance estimating delivery and outcomes
