Mortenson is currently seeking an Estimating Manager with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Estimating Manager will ensure the preparation of full estimates on a wide scale of project types and complexity levels. Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum eight years of proven estimating experience, including working knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing
  • Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, contracts, cost coding systems, etc.
  • Organized and detailed with proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
  • Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Applicable mathematical skills
  • Proficient with building/estimating techniques and software: ISqFt , ICE/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth
  • Current driver's license

  • LEED AP, DBIA professional, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate full estimate preparation, review, and communication
  • Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned project areas
  • Assist with compiling historical cost data
  • Review project documents for potential conflicts and constructability questions
  • Lead plan and estimate reviews
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers for clarification or additional information
  • Provide baseline unit pricing with well-organized estimate details
  • Establish margin and contingency plans with Construction Executives and/or Chief Estimator
  • Create and review internal general conditions cost estimates
  • Develop, prepare, and review value analysis estimates
