About The Position

The Rawson Group is seeking a strategic and forward‑thinking Estimating Manager, Masters & Systems to lead a dedicated team of Estimators and play a critical role in improving estimating systems and structures across the business, for our expanding range of products. Reporting to the Head of Estimating, this role is responsible for driving the governance, development, and ongoing optimisation of our master estimating systems, pricing frameworks, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) structures. Operating independently from Production and Sales Estimating, you will provide strategic oversight of estimating platforms, data integrity, and process effectiveness across the organisation. The successful candidate ensures consistency, accuracy, and continuous improvement in all master data and system‑driven estimating functions, through collaborative management of internal and external teams. As the business continues to grow rapidly, entering new sectors and new product lines, you will ensure our systems remain robust, scalable, and aligned with evolving operational and commercial needs. A key focus of the role is driving standardisation, best‑practice methodologies, and continuous improvement across all estimating tools and processes, including the implementation of new ACC applications. By maintaining strong master data and pricing structures, you will ensure accurate costing, protect margins, and enhances operational efficiency, ensuring the business is well positioned to scale with confidence.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role is highly desirable and exposure to the residential construction sector is essential.
  • Certifications in estimating or cost management platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and influencing across estimating, procurement and construction teams.
  • Strong leadership capability to drive and deliver outcomes and promote accountability without direct line management.
  • Proven ability to manage complex tasks, delegate and define priorities to deliver results in a variable and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong systems and process mindset with experience in estimating platforms, pricing and data governance.
  • High levels of negotiation and strategic mindset to influence all levels of stakeholders both internal & external.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to translate data into commercial insights.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful partnerships across all levels of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, governance, and optimisation of Master BOQs in line with business requirements.
  • Provide leadership and direction to internal & external masters teams in the production of new master designs and BOQs.
  • Oversee updates to Master BOQs arising from ETS feedback, construction methodologies, design changes, specification updates, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes for reviewing and validating Master BOQs.
  • Lead the creation and management of new products in Framework for retail pricelists & archive discontinued products.
  • Manage, govern and lead master house pricing, databases and upgrade specifications for Display homes in alignment with Procurement and Estimating leadership.
  • Oversee catalogue updates to ensure alignment with procurement strategies & manage price variance issues collaborating with internal teams.
  • Govern the creation and maintenance of VPB catalogue items, recipes, mini-bills, and system logic to improve estimating efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of ACC Takeoff templates, Databuild recipes, macros, and Framework VPB updates.
  • Ensure Sales specifications are updated and aligned with system and master pricing changes.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardisation across estimating systems.
