About The Position

That's why we're always looking ahead, and not just to the next project or what's next in our industry. We are accepting applications for a 2026 Summer Internship Program in our Denver District. As an Intern student you will be given similar responsibilities to a full time, junior estimator and will experience what a career will be like in construction. You will work alongside the estimating and preconstruction team and be involved in several aspects of a project. We will designate a mentor for you who will be available to you for the duration of the internship/co-op. You will also have the opportunity to participate in company events and community volunteer opportunities.

Requirements

• Desire a career in construction Project Management, Field Supervision, or Estimating
• Pursuing an associate’s or bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating Technology, Construction Management, or related discipline
• Any experience using On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft Excel and Word, Revit, Acrobat, and other computer software
• Required to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, with project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors and owners
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications, and perform quantity take offs
• Must be authorized to work in the US *PCL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g. H1-B, etc.) for this position
• 18 years of age or older
• Available to work in Denver, CO, full time from May to August
• Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party

Responsibilities

• Review and perform quantity survey assignment with lead estimator
• Performs general sub-trade solicitation duties
• Bid document control
• Performs bid day assignments
• Sub-trade bid reviews and recapping
• Visits job sites periodically
• Use of in-house estimating software (BEST Estimating)
• Develops relationships with subcontractors
• Other duties as assigned
