Position Summary: The Estimating Engineer PE plays a critical role in communicating complex technical information to customers and clients. This position involves developing preliminary structural designs, coordinating with internal and external suppliers, and preparing professional proposals for projects of high complexity. This role requires a deep understanding of pre-engineered building design methods, product knowledge, and pricing strategies while also mentoring less experienced estimators.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver quotations and pre-order assistance for high-complexity projects (600 hours +/-) with little to no oversight and quality assurance checks.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop pricing strategies and provide critical input on final pricing.
  • Lead training sessions to improve understanding of pricing software capabilities among team members and builders.
  • Act as a mentor and leader within the estimating team, guiding and developing junior and intermediate estimators.
  • Continuously improve quote hit ratio and identify opportunities to enhance profitability.
  • Drive the development of estimating best practices and ensure consistency in the estimation process.
