We are proud to be recognized for our sustainability practices, one-of-a-kind dinner experience, and world-class excellence in hospitality. Our Estate team is seeking a Tasting Room Host/Hostess ! If you have excellent people skills, a passion for the wine industry, and weekend availability, this could be a great opportunity for you. This full-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys providing exceptional customer service while working alongside a supportive and dynamic team. As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for clearing and resetting tables and bars in a professional, efficient, and timely manner as guests leave. You will help maintain the appearance of the Tasting Room and surrounding areas and support the Tasting Room staff with tasks such as clearing tables, polishing glassware, and restocking wine and merchandise. This position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate weekends, holidays, and evenings. The role is part of the tip pool and is based at our JUSTIN Estate, 11680 Chimney Rock Road, Paso Robles.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a winery or restaurant setting preferred
  • Strong interest in customer service and continuously going above and beyond to ensure each guest leaves with the best experience
  • Availability to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and holidays as needed
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Demonstrate ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Strong problem-solving skills involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Meets, greets, and escorts Tasting Room guests and provides an excellent customer experience to uphold Forbes 5-star services/standards
  • Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, and respond with appropriate actions and information
  • Maintain the appearance of the Tasting Room and surrounding areas by clearing tables, wiping down patio furniture, polishing glassware, washing dishes/glassware and replenishing wine and merchandise
  • Ensure trash receptacles are emptied as needed and are sorted and placed in designated areas
  • Assemble cheese plates for customers
  • Participate in and ensure compliance with all opening and closing duties as determined and published by the Tasting Room Manager
  • Assist in special events setup, breakdown, and clean-up and packing wine orders
  • Keep up to date on new JUSTIN releases, as well as viticulture and winemaking techniques
  • Follow all company safety procedures and company policies
