The Estate Administrator plays a key role in managing and overseeing the administration of estates, supporting probate proceedings, and assisting the Private Clients and Fiduciary Services Group with related legal matters. This role is a full-time, exempt position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in estate administration, preferably within a law firm.
  • Strong understanding of estate administration, probate laws, and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel) and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the complete administration process of estates under attorney supervision.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining estate documents.
  • Reviewing asset valuations, settling outstanding debts, and distributing assets to beneficiaries.
  • Preparing and filing probate documents, such as petitions, inventories, and accountings.
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for estate-related inquiries from personal representatives and beneficiaries.
  • Coordinating the resolution of outstanding debts related to the estate.
  • Assisting in the preparation of estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns.
  • Maintaining meticulous accounting records of estate income, expenses, and distributions.
  • Collaborating closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other team members to provide seamless support to clients.
