The Enterprise Security System (ESS) Administrator manages and supports the full suite of physical security technologies that protect personnel, assets, facilities, and operations across an organization. This includes video surveillance systems, access control platforms, identity management tools, intrusion detection systems, and security operations center (SOC) monitoring solutions. The ESS Administrator ensures the security infrastructure is reliable, scalable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise risk management strategies. Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience in enterprise physical security systems administration.
  • Experience with at least one enterprise access control system (Lenel, CCURE, Genetec Synergis , etc.).
  • Experience with enterprise Video Management Systems (VMS).
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, IP devices, wiring standards, and system integrations.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles as applied to physical security infrastructure.
  • Ability to analyze security incidents and support investigations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (if ).

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturer certifications such as Lenel Onguard , CCURE 9000, Genetec Security Center, Axis, or Milestone.
  • Experience supporting Security Operations Centers (SOC) or command center environments.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and physical security design standards (CPTED, UL 2050, DoD UFC 4-021, etc.).
  • Project management experience supporting security technology deployments.
  • Experience with scripting/automation to manage large-scale systems (PowerShell, Python, API automation).

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain enterprise-wide security systems including: Video Management Systems (VMS) such as Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, etc. Access control systems (Lenel, CCURE, HID/PKI, Identiv , etc.). Intrusion detection systems, sensors, alarms, intercoms, and emergency notification platforms.
  • Maintain servers, databases, controllers, and network components supporting security systems.
  • Manage system integrations (API, SNMP, event forwarders, identity sync, SOC dashboards).
  • Implement configuration baselines, firmware updates, and patch management.
  • Provide technical support to SOC analysts, security officers, and facility protection teams.
  • Monitor system performance, uptime, and event accuracy across multiple facilities.
  • Troubleshoot system outages, device failures, and network-related issues.
  • Support investigations through video retrieval, access event review, and evidence export.
  • Administer badge systems, cardholder databases, visitor systems, and identity synchronization.
  • Enforce access policies, privilege assignments, revocations, and audit reviews.
  • Coordinate with HR, IT, and security leadership for onboarding/offboarding workflows.
  • Ensure physical security systems meet regulatory and organizational standards (FIPS, NIST, DHS ICS, FISMA, etc.).
  • Maintain audit logs, system access records, and compliance documentation.
  • Participate in security assessments, vulnerability reviews, and continuity planning.
  • Recommend and design upgrades, expansions, and technology enhancements.
  • Manage vendor relationships for service support, warranties, and system lifecycle planning.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration guides, and SOPs.
  • Participate in capital planning, budgeting, and multi-year security program roadmaps.
