Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive English Language Development (ELD) curriculum aligned with state and district standards.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including explicit instruction, small group work, cooperative learning, and technology-integrated activities.
  • Assess students' language proficiency regularly to inform instruction and monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure seamless integration of language and content instruction.
  • Provide support and guidance to ELL students in core academic subjects.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes language acquisition and academic achievement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ESOL education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share expertise, resources, and strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and attendance.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's academic progress and language development.
  • Adhere to school and district policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive school culture and climate.
