Position Criteria: High school education or equivalent, required Experience in ESOL environment strongly preferred Performance Criteria: An understanding of the cultural dynamics that EL Newcomers bring to school, and a willingness to help them acclimate to the school system Ability to provide ongoing support to classroom teachers as they implement instruction to English Language Learners in their classrooms Proven record of successful collaboration with multiple grades levels and teams in order to meet student needs Effective behavior management skills Ability to facilitate one-on-one or small group instruction for students at the direction of the ESOL teacher(s) Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for beginning readers and proven record of successful implementation Ability to support families as they acclimate to the school system Strong communication skills Other duties as assigned Benefits included: IPERS retirement account Health and Dental Insurance paid for the employee (spouse/family coverage available at an additonal cost) Generous leave package including peronal leave, sick leave, family sick leave, and bereavement leave
