About The Position

Join our team as a Direct Support Professional / Caregiver in Valparaiso, IN! As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver, you will provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. You will work directly with people in need of assistance, and/or living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or other complex medical needs. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Computer skills for documentation.
  • Prior experience with intense high behaviors, both verbal and physical preferred.
  • Prior IDD, mental health, psychiatric, and/or security experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance to individuals.
  • Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served.
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
