Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any field.
• TEFL certificate (including teaching practicum CELTA/Trinity equivalent preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver high quality language lessons.
• Demonstrated ability to work with new technologies for teaching and administration.

Responsibilities

• Establishes a positive learning environment for all learners, ensuring that they feel supported in their learning and able to take risks with language.
• Creates lessons that are motivating and engaging with a focus on learning and progress.
• Provides feedback and support that encourages the learners to develop both their language skills and their learning autonomy.
• Completes all administrative duties in a timely manner.
• Works in the school team and the teaching team in a professional manner.
• Takes an active interest in self-development and creates and achieves development goals.
• Participates in in-company and industry events and trainings and promotes and facilitates best practice through active collaboration with other EC teachers.
• Complete class administration in a timely manner, including: Records of Work, student attendance, Student assessment reports.
• Set and mark homework and tests according to the EC assessment rubrics.
• Provide students with focused tutorials.
• Encourage students on academic contracts and improvement plans through monitoring and support.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as directed by the Director of Studies.
• Seek feedback from students, peers and manager.
• Set development goals in conjunction with the DoS based on observations, feedback and individual areas of interest.
• Follow the directives in the employee handbook and teacher manual.
• Provide occasional substitute coverage.
• Participate in internal CPD events.
• Assist Director of Studies in piloting new materials and programs.
• Conduct peer observations.
