About The Position
The ASL, ESL & Linguistics department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking highly-qualified individuals to be our ESL Services Specialist! These incumbents will be performing responsible and varied duties to coordinate ESL screening and guided placement duties and to ensure appropriate course placement of ESL students based on their English proficiency level. We are looking for someone who ensures that ESL students are provided with information and support to successfully matriculate and navigate access to applicable District services and programs. The successful candidate will need to be adaptable and flexible, be a creative problem solver, exhibit exceptional customer service skills, and organizational skills, have the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders across the District and lead a diverse team, have experience using technology to track and report data, and have the ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish and English.
