About The Position

Supervises day-to-day department operations and staff in client services including selection, coaching and performance appraisals. Monitors and ensures quality assurance, and procedural compliance, in order to provide the best possible outcomes for Members and Accounts. Participates in developing and implementing new strategies and procedures for process improvement.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in behavioral health field (social work, psychology, counseling, or related field).
  • 7 years progressive experience as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselor or equivalent behavioral health clinical experience.
  • Relevant supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Licensed Mental Health Clinician (or other industry recognized licenses: psychology, social work, etc.).
  • Active, current, and unrestricted license in the state employed is preferred (unless required to practice in state employed).
  • Assessment, triage, in the moment support, research and case management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health conditions, levels of care, and discharge planning.
  • Knowledge of, and the ability to apply fundamental concepts related to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Protected Health Information (PHI) compliance and procedures.
  • Ability to supervise and coach staff.
  • Intermediate proficiency using Windows-based programs and applications, including Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises day to day department operations and functions of Counselors and support staff.
  • Prioritizes and assigns accounts and provides coaching and support on case consults and reviews.
  • Ensures clinical determinations are in adherence with Company risk policy and in the member and Company's best interest.
  • Ensures that counselors maintain clinical competencies that enable them to effectively achieve case management outcomes.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of policy and procedure and recommends and/or implements changes as needed.
  • Coordinates, and as needed, consults with Human Resources and supervisory personnel from client companies regarding employee issues and concerns including service issues.
