About The Position

The ESG Intern assists with ESG and sustainability disclosure and reporting. This 4-6 month internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in ESG data management, policy analysis, and sustainability reporting. The intern will work closely with the ESG team to secure critical non-GHG data, address reporting gaps, and identify opportunities to enhance our policy framework and improve our ESG rank and rater scores. They will work with the internal stakeholders to collect data, analyze it, and prepare reports. They will also help with research on sustainability topics, benchmarking, capturing ESG regulatory trends, and assisting with other projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in ESG, corporate sustainability, and policy development.
  • Strong data analysis skills with ability to draw conclusions and communicate findings effectively.
  • Ability to read and understand technical material, including proposed regulations.
  • Well organized and detail oriented with the ability to carry out tasks independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with diverse populations.
  • Intermediate skills in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Advanced preferred.
  • Passionate about improving the well-being of people and the planet.
  • Professional demeanor.

Nice To Haves

  • LEED Green Associate is not required but would be considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and close gaps in ESG reporting and policies.
  • Support the collection and verification of non-GHG-related ESG data elements, contributing to improved data accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct research to identify policy gaps and suggest improvements aligned with industry best practices.
  • Assist in analyzing ESG rank and rater score metrics and propose actionable steps to enhance scores.
  • Participate in the refinement of ESG data collection processes to ensure alignment with voluntary and mandatory disclosure standards.
  • Support sustainability project tracking and reporting under the guidance of the Senior ESG Manager.
  • Assist with other projects related to sustainability or corporate responsibility as needed.

Benefits

  • This is a paid internship.
  • Compensation ranges from $23.00 to $25.50 per hour in New York and $28.00 to $32.00 per hour in California, with potential cost of living adjustments.
