About The Position

We’re seeking a committed, licensed Special Education teacher to support learners with a wide range of needs in a self-contained classroom setting. This full-time role centers on delivering purposeful, engaging instruction that helps students build skills, confidence, and independence. In this position, you’ll design and manage individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each learner’s strengths and goals. You’ll provide targeted instruction through small-group and one-on-one support, using data to guide teaching decisions and measure student progress. Collaboration is a key component of the role—you’ll partner with families, general education teachers, and school staff to support student growth, including participation in co-taught math and ELA environments. You’ll also help cultivate a structured, supportive classroom climate that encourages academic achievement and social-emotional development.

Requirements

• Qualified candidates should demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills, along with experience supporting young learners with diverse needs.
• An active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement is required
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
