PRIMARY PURPOSE: Lead student study groups in order to improve academic achievement for students. This position is supplemental to locally funded positions. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education/Certification: High school diploma and some college hours preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Effective verbal and written communications skills as well as a high degree of literacy and higher order thinking skills Must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Follow written and/or oral directions and to exercise good judgement are required Work effectively and harmoniously with students and school personnel is essential Ability to instruct a small group of students Working knowledge of the grade level(s)/subject(s) assigned Work Conditions: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office/educational equipment including personal computer, tablets, Smart Board, etc. Posture: Prolonged sitting, standing and walking; bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion: Repetitive hand motions Lifting: Lifting and carrying (less than 50 pounds) Environment: Must be able to work with frequent interruptions in a variety of educational settings and maintain professional demeanor under stress; Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise Regular attendance is an essential function. Minimum Experience: Experience working with school age students is preferred. This experience may be work in church-related schools, day camps, youth groups, athletics, private schools, or similar experiences.
