About The Position

The Escrow Assistant/Funder is responsible for managing pre-closing and post-closing tasks for each escrow file. This role involves ensuring all necessary documents are in order, processing funds, and maintaining communication with clients and agents throughout the closing process. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year experience as an escrow assistant.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm regardless of deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, with aptitude for performing mathematical and accounting functions.
  • Accurate typing and computer proficiency required.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the title insurance industry.
  • Familiarity with escrow processes and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Order payoffs, HOA's, tax certificates, or other items as needed or requested by Escrow Officers.
  • Request permission from lenders for authorization to fund; receipt in monies; balance file; disburse funds; and initiate wire transfers for payoffs.
  • Verify tax certificates are complete and accurate.
  • Record all documents required in a transaction in appropriate counties if applicable.
  • Place file in audit order and scan entire file into File Scan, ensuring each section is scanned into its related tab.
  • Obtain payoffs and any invoices that will appear on the settlement statement.
  • Assist closer in preparing the settlement statement.
  • Send out Lender Packages and Collateral Packages back to the appropriate party after closing files.
  • Initiate or approve wire transfers on files, request File2File Transfers, and mail or overnight all checks issued on files.
  • Verify legal descriptions match the descriptions in commitment and on survey.
  • File all documents to be recorded in appropriate counties and/or state.
  • Prepare files for scanning and place them in audit order.
  • Accept supervision and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
