About The Position

The Deputy Director of Engineering for Escambia County is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing comprehensive department programs. This role includes attending Board meetings, managing administrative duties, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. The Deputy Director provides professional assistance to County leadership and fosters cooperative relationships with various agencies, while also handling confidential and sensitive issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of eight years work experience as a Professional Engineer.
• At least five years of experience in a supervisory or management position.
• Valid driver's license in the state of residence.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Florida or ability to obtain within six months.
