About The Position

The Escalation Engineer I at Hitachi High-Tech America, Inc. is responsible for providing second-level technical support for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role involves assessing failure models, generating escalation action plans, and providing on-site support for equipment issues. The engineer will maintain a high level of equipment knowledge and act as a liaison between the U.S. subsidiary and the factory in Japan, ensuring excellent customer support through effective communication and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing equipment support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Experience with semiconductor etch systems.
• Familiarity with technical documentation and engineering change processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-level technical support for semiconductor manufacturing equipment products.
• Assess failure models and provide technical support for equipment escalations.
• Generate, update, and refine escalation action plans and root-cause models.
• Provide on-site support for equipment escalations.
• Maintain a high level of equipment knowledge through training and hands-on exposure.
• Analyze historical data of equipment escalations to identify common issues.
• Act as a liaison between the HHT factory in Japan and U.S. support operations.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation including maintenance procedures and engineering bulletins.
• Provide engineering support for global source parts and engineering changes.
• Assist Supply Chain and QA groups with parts lookup and vendor qualification.
