Key benefits Scoring the Texas Educator Certification Examinations provides educators with a unique opportunity to network with peers, support their profession, and stay up to date with current practices and content. Scorers are provided with the opportunity to learn a process for evaluating responses to performance assignments, effectively and fairly. Scorers are provided with a thorough orientation to the methodology of how to score responses and gain valuable assessment skills in the process. All scoring is done during the day remotely via Teams. Scoring sessions are conducted 4 times a year for one day and scorers are scheduled based on their availability. Compensation is hourly at $17.50 per hour. Overall Responsibilities Evaluates teacher certification candidate responses to constructed-response items in a reliable manner and scores according to supplied scoring guide. Successfully internalizes training and participates in discussions. Meets quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program. May be required to pass qualifying test before scoring. Qualifications Conferred a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an Accredited College or University. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a Texas school. Taught the specific content field being scored within the past 3 years in a Texas school. Valid and current Texas certification required. Must reside in the state of Texas. Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse). Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to maintain a confidential work environment. Requirements
