About The Position

The Environmental Services Supervisor leads and coordinates all housekeeping and environmental cleaning functions to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role manages daily workflows, enforces regulatory standards, and fosters a team culture of excellence and accountability within a rural hospital setting. The Environmental Services Supervisor reports directly to Director of Facilities.

Requirements

High School graduate or GED required.
Minimum of 1 year in commercial or healthcare cleaning operations preferred.
At least one year in a supervisory role is preferred.
Demonstrates support for organizational and departmental mission.
Supports and demonstrates knowledge of the Strategic Plan and the Hospital Key Initiatives.

Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day environmental services operations, including patient rooms, public areas, and support areas.
Schedule, train, coach, and evaluate Environmental Services department staff.
Develop and manage staff schedules; recruit, train, coach, and evaluate environmental services employees.
Implement and monitor cleaning protocols in accordance with infection-control policies, Joint Commission standards, and regulations
Conduct routine inspections and audits to verify cleanliness, address deficiencies and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment, and equipment; coordinate reorders and vendor relationships
Oversee preventive maintenance and repairs of floor machines, carpet extractors, and other cleaning equipment.
Collaborate with nursing, facilities, and infection-prevention teams during patient surges, outbreaks, or emergency events.
Prepare monthly performance metrics, and staffing justifications.
Other duties as assigned.
