About The Position

The Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance (ERSEA) Specialist works with agency staff in the development, implementation and monitoring of Early Head Start/Head Start ERSEA activities: eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance of Early Head Start/Head Start participants. The ERSEA Specialists supports the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of ERSEA data, ensuring all Head Start services are in compliance with regulatory and licensure requirements; and assists in the blending of administration and program to promote maximum efficiency of services delivery within Head Start programming. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: ERSEA Coordinator or designee Directs: Volunteers, interns, or other resources acquired to support data needs Other: Works cooperatively with all staff to accomplish the mission, goals, objectives and performance measures of the program and agency

Requirements

  • Applied Associates degree in family child sciences, early childhood, systems management, family and child sciences, social work or related field required , with demonstrated competence in database maintenance and integrity attained through on-the-job training, required.
  • Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Proficient with and have working knowledge of ChildPlus, Microsoft Office Operating Systems, word processing, spreadsheets and databases; basic understanding of database systems and their utilizations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines through effective time management.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Head Start Performance Standards, Head Start Act, and Texas Department of Family Protective Services Minimum Rules and Standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of agency and community resources and services, understands cultural differences and is sensitive to the implications of culture for service delivery; and familiar with family dynamics.
  • Able to utilize various learning techniques in the successful delivery of Family and Community Support Services.
  • Experience working with children 0-5 years old and their families in an educational environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service both verbally and written.
  • Staff will be required to submit proof of their vaccination status or may request to be exempt from vaccination due to a religious and/or medical accommodation.
  • Certificate or license, as applicable, by the appropriate State agency as a qualified practitioner.
  • State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in education, early childhood education, social work, or related field preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) desirable.
