About The Position

The Private Markets Investment Analyst II-III at the Employees Retirement System (ERS) is responsible for performing complex investment analysis work, assisting in identifying, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities in various private market strategies. This role involves portfolio monitoring, reporting, and performance measurement, working under the guidance of the Director and Portfolio Managers of Private Infrastructure. The position operates in a hybrid work environment with flexible schedules, contributing to ERS's mission of enhancing the lives of its members.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, or a business-related field.
  • Prefer a master's degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or engineering.
  • 2-3 years of full-time professional financial management, investment, or project management experience, preferably in alternative investment management or investment banking.
  • 2-3 years of experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience traveling domestically and abroad for business.
  • 1 year of experience using Bloomberg or similar software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director and Portfolio Manager(s) in identifying and evaluating investment opportunities in private markets.
  • Conduct due diligence on investment managers and general partners, including performance analysis and financial model validation.
  • Create and maintain financial models for investment analysis and portfolio monitoring.
  • Monitor economic developments and trends in public and private equity and debt markets, particularly in infrastructure.
  • Prepare and maintain reporting capabilities for private markets tracking systems and produce ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Perform reconciliations of fund flows, performance, management fees, and partnership expenses.
  • Travel domestically and internationally for due diligence visits and industry conferences as directed.
  • Assist in monitoring and recommending private markets investments and strategies.
