Requirements

  • Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for querying and managing databases
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualization tools
  • Basic understanding of data modeling, Power Query, ETL concepts, and DAX
  • Familiarity to SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) for creating and updating reports via Report Manager
  • Familiarity with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for ETL processes and data warehouse maintenance
  • Experience with .NET C# development for web and Windows-based applications
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing or operational metrics (SQDCP)
  • Basic understanding of data warehouse concepts, including data flows, staging, and dimensional modeling
  • Familiarity with BI development lifecycle — from requirements gathering through report delivery and user acceptance
  • Understanding of data quality, data governance, and best practices for maintaining reliable reporting environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Good communications skills – able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Must have or be active pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related field (approximately 1 year remaining preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business operations and leadership decision-making.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze data from ERP systems using SQL and Power Query.
  • Support reporting for operational metrics including SQDCP indicators.
  • Work with business users to gather reporting requirements and translate them into visual dashboards.
  • Maintain data models and ensure accuracy of datasets used for reporting.
  • Automate recurring reports and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Document report logic, data sources, and dashboard usage.
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies and assist with data validation.
  • Create new and update existing SSRS reports using Report Manager.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining SSIS packages that support the data warehouse.
  • Support the development and maintenance of .NET C# web and Windows-based applications as needed.
  • Observe the highest ethical standards as outlined in the Hitchiner Code of Conduct and ensure that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with it.
  • Must follow all safety requirements of job as outlined on the job safety card.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Complete all paperwork associated with the job. Correctly maintain all forms and instruction sheets.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly working environment.
  • Inform your supervisor about problems that occur.
  • May be required to handle hazardous waste by collecting and transferring the waste into proper containers at satellite storage areas or storage areas and assuring that the containers are properly inspected, labeled, and closed as required. Must follow correct instruction for handling hazardous waste and report any deviations to supervisor immediately. Must attend yearly instruction in hazardous waste handling and review of current procedures if job duties could affect non-compliance.
