About The Position

The Lab Assistant is responsible for maintaining the KCC lab facilities in a manner which optimizes lab course delivery. Will be responsible for the overall upkeep of the lab and assisting instructors with lab courses.

Requirements

• Must have license/certification at minimum at the level or above the level of instruction.
• Current CPR card for BLS providers (EMT Lab Instructor).
• Good communication and organizational skills required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Computer literate with some experience with standard office equipment necessary.
• Ability to follow proper precautions and safety procedures when working in the lab, particularly when handling hazardous chemicals and materials.
• Instructor Credentials as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and organizes the lab materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensures that sufficient materials and supplies are available for lab courses.
• Sets up labs for courses including assembling necessary materials and equipment.
• Cleans and returns materials and equipment after lab course(s). Replenishes materials and supplies as necessary.
• Assists instructor with provision of labs/monitoring of students during lab courses.
• Helps in the preparation of various teaching aids.
• During lab classes, directed by lab instructor to assist students with lab assignments.
