About The Position

The Ergonomic & Wellness Specialist at Glidewell Dental is responsible for identifying and mitigating ergonomic hazards in the workplace to enhance employee safety and well-being. This role involves developing and maintaining ergonomic programs, conducting assessments, and collaborating with various departments to integrate ergonomic principles into workplace practices. The specialist will also facilitate training, monitor injury trends, and contribute to health and wellness initiatives within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Human Factors, Exercise Physiology, Health Promotion, Health Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in Ergonomics, Wellness, Safety, or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Ergonomics Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Identify ergonomic hazards in the workplace by analyzing injury and illness reports, workers' compensation claims data, and OSHA records.
  • Develop and maintain ergonomic programs to prevent injuries, including identifying ergonomic risks such as repetitive tasks and improper work setups.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and ensure continuous improvement and long-term success of ergonomic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Safety, and other departments to integrate ergonomic principles into workplace policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and facilitate training for internal personnel on ergonomic standards and best practices.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations and track and report assessment findings, recommendations, and solutions.
  • Create and maintain monthly reports tracking assessments per division, equipment costs, type of assessment, and reason for assessment.
  • Conduct ergonomic job analysis of positions using various methods to analyze job tasks and risk factors.
  • Analyze ergonomic trends for preventing injuries and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).
  • Implement measures for injury prevention such as engineering controls, administrative and work practice controls, and personal protection equipment (PPE).
  • Create educational ergonomic tips and techniques for online newsletters, social media, and printed communication materials.
  • Monitor and assess workplace injury and illness data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in the development and review of safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Help plan, schedule, execute, and evaluate health and wellness programs to ensure continuous year-round opportunities for employees.
  • Collaborate with various company departments and external vendors to execute health and wellness goals.
  • Help develop health and wellness communication materials.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at the direction of management.

  • Competitive hourly pay ranging from $28.00 to $32.00 per hour.
