About The Position
The ER Technician - Per Diem position at Carson Valley Health involves assisting licensed staff in providing basic nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role is crucial in delivering age-appropriate care to patients ranging from infants to the geriatric population. The technician will function as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating nursing process skills by collecting patient data, reporting findings, and assisting the team in meeting patient care goals. The position is offered on a per diem basis, meaning work is available as needed, and an additional 15% will be added to the hourly rate in lieu of benefits due to this status. In this role, the ER Technician will be responsible for providing personal and physical nursing care to patients, which includes obtaining basic age-appropriate measures, assisting with daily living activities, specimen collection, nutrition, elimination, and pulmonary support. The technician will also provide basic physical care and comfort measures, assist with non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings, and perineal care, as well as help with positioning and transporting patients for various procedures. Documentation is a key aspect of this position. The technician will assist the care team by collecting patient care data at designated intervals and reporting findings to licensed staff. They must recognize and accurately report relevant patient information, communicate safety and infection control information to the RN or nurse manager, and ensure that all aspects of patient care are documented accurately and timely. The technician will also perform all responsibilities required by the unit to ensure that the unique nature of each client is addressed, including ordering, obtaining, maintaining, and stocking medical supplies as needed. They will demonstrate knowledge and skill in the use of special equipment and maintain accurate documentation of supply charges.
