About The Position

The Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech) at St. Michael's Elite Hospital plays a crucial role in the emergency room team, providing care to patients with acute illnesses or injuries. This position is designed to assist and support nursing and medical staff, ensuring high standards of patient care while managing supplies and equipment efficiently. ER Techs are expected to be customer service-oriented and work collaboratively with healthcare staff to exceed patient expectations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of recent ER Tech experience.
• BLS/Health Care Providers CPR certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and emergency department operations.
• Ability to perform basic technical emergency care.

Nice To Haves

• PALS certification preferred.
• Medical Assistant/CNA/EMT Basic or Intermediate certification preferred.
• Paramedic certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support nursing and medical staff in the emergency room.
• Perform patient care tasks as directed by physicians and nurses.
• Manage supplies and equipment in the emergency room.
• Maintain a cost-efficient operation for the facility.
• Promote teamwork among healthcare staff.
• Perform laboratory procedures and record results.
• Monitor patients on cardiac monitors and perform EKGs.
• Insert and remove saline locks and urinary catheters.
• Provide wound care and assist with pelvic exams.
• Take and record vital signs.
