About The Position

This position focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services under the supervision of a professional nurse. The role involves assisting in direct patient care, ensuring patient safety, and performing various clerical duties to support the efficient functioning of the unit. The position is designed for individuals with specialized knowledge or skills in nursing support, working collaboratively to meet patient needs within the scope of their role.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) preferred.
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited Nursing program preferred.
• One (1) year recent experience as a Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), Critical Care Tech (CCT) or Patient Care Tech (PCT) preferred.
• Prior experience in acute care preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a clinical technologist role.
• Knowledge of growth and development for age-appropriate communication.

Responsibilities

• Assists in direct patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs) under the direction of clinical staff.
• Prepares patient rooms for admission and maintains a clean and safe environment.
• Transports patients to procedures and discharge as directed.
• Cleans and operates biomedical equipment safely and correctly.
• Collects, records, and reports accurate patient data in a timely manner.
• Greets visitors and ensures patient and family needs are met in a caring manner.
• Functions as a Patient Sitter when needed, maintaining continuous observation of patients.
• Completes administrative duties regarding patient admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Provides transportation of patients using appropriate modes such as wheelchair or stretcher.
• Assists with procedures requiring aseptic technique during peri-operative care.
• Maintains open communication with coworkers and contributes to a positive work environment.
