About The Position

As an Emergency Room Technical Assistant, you'll work side-by-side with nurses and providers to deliver timely, compassionate care during critical moments. Under direct supervision, you'll assist with procedures, perform vital tasks, and help ensure smooth operations in one of the hospital's most dynamic environments. This is an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while providing essential support to patients in urgent need.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• BLS Certification required
• Previous experience in an Emergency Department or acute care setting is a strong plus

Nice To Haves

• EMT license preferred
• Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period is required

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments, exams, and treatments
• Perform clinical tasks such as drawing blood & collecting specimens
• Perform EKGs
• Apply splints or immobilizers
• Take vital signs (adult and pediatric)
• Insert NG tubes, urethral catheters
• Start and discontinue IVs (as applicable)
• Prepare and assist with procedures including suturing, casting, pelvic exams, lumbar punctures, and more
• Recognize abnormal vitals or dysrhythmias and alert the RN/Provider immediately
• Provide patient and family support with professionalism and empathy
• Maintain equipment and supplies; clean and prepare rooms between patients
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and hospital standards
